What is the world’s attitude toward Sex?
· The World has a so-called newfound freedom and an attitude that sex is permitted between consenting adults.
What is the Christian’s attitude toward Sex?
· This is an attitude that must be regulated by God’s Word. Sex though pleasurable is not made only for our pleasure. It’s the way that God perpetuates the human race, his children.
· Every child should be born into a loving family.
· Failure to follow God’s marvelous plan is the greatest cause of unhappiness in our world. Not only does it affect those who break the rules but also many others are victims of the sin.
Genesis 2:19-25 Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. 20So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him. 21And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. 22Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. 23And Adam said: "This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man." 24Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. 25And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
· Sex within marriage is viewed as something honorable and beautiful, so much so that God used it to illustrate His union with His people.
Titus 1:15 To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled.
Hebrews 13:4 Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
· Adultery is a married person having sex with another of the opposite sex to whom he or she is not married.
· God knew that would be a greatest threat to marriage so He included it in the Ten Commandments and breaking this commandment was punishable by death by stoning.
Exodus 20:14 "You shall not commit adultery.
John 8:4-5 they said to Him, "Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?"
· Fornication [involving sexually immorality] has the primary meaning of sexual intercourse between a man and woman who are not married. The World says “You are old fashioned if you take this stand; after all everybody else does it.”
· As a disciple, you cannot allow the world around you to squeeze into its mould.

Unnatural Sex

· One of Sodom and Gomorrah sins for which God overthrew the city, was homosexuality [sodomy]. God has not changed his mind he still hates it. Practicing homosexuals are among those who will not inherit the kingdom of God

For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.
· The argument of “Its just the way God made me”, or ”its just my nature” has no truth. God is setting homosexuals free every day; see the deliverance in Corinth.

The Disciple must have a biblical attitude when dating or courting
· Flirting is playing at courting. Its also called “attention without intention.” It can ultimately involve petting, kissing, caressing simply for the thrill of the experience.
· That is so selfish and unworthy of a Christian. Love is too serious for play-acting. One may be playing and the other serious and can be deeply wounded, if not scarred for life.
· Treat younger women as you would your sister.
1 Timothy 5:1-2 Do not rebuke an older man, but exhort him as a father, younger men as brothers, 2 older women as mothers, younger as sisters, with all purity.
· Do not get locked into a exclusive friendship with a member of the opposite sex until you know you are meant for each other. First, you both must be in born again and in agreement in your relationship with God. Becoming good friends and getting to know one another as well as the families is a first step. Courting is developing a relationship in preparation for marriage, and it takes time to develop. Showing physical affection should go just so far.
· Becoming sexual intimate and having sexual intercourse before marriage is fornication and sin. Heavy petting, caressing the intimate parts of the body would be a temptation you should resist. If your marriage to this individual is of God and is to be, do it right.
2 Corinthians 6:14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?
1 Corinthians 7:14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband; otherwise your children would be unclean, but now they are holy.
2 Corinthians 11:2 For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
If it is God’s plan for you to marry this individual, than let courting be according to God’s plan.
· Sexual desire is like an inner fire. Self-control keeps sex in the right place for the right person at the right time.
Proverbs 6:27-29 Can a man take fire to his bosom, And his clothes not be burned? 28 Can one walk on hot coals, And his feet not be seared? 29 So is he who goes in to his neighbor's wife; Whoever touches her shall not be innocent.
