BB – 14 A Kingdom is Coming

Lesson #14

The Kingdom of God is a Different Government

· Our Final Government is not of this world.

Luke 4:43 (NKJV) 43 but He said to them, "I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent." Matthew 6:33 (NKJV) 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Mark 1:14-15 (NKJV) 14 Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15 and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel." Matthew 20:21 (NKJV) 21 And He said to her, "What do you wish?" She said to Him, "Grant that these two sons of mine may sit, one on Your right hand and the other on the left, in Your kingdom."
Matthew 28:16-20 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain, which Jesus had appointed for them. 17 When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.

· “Kingdom” is the domain over which a king rules.

Matthew 7:21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven

The Kingdom of God is not so much the territory over which a king rules but about the rule itself. God is not concerned about real estate, but about all peoples of the earth knowing about his Glory. The Kingdom of God emphases the things God is doing in the earth.

· We are now a part of a government [Kingdom of God] whose glory will cover the Earth like the waters that covers the sea.

Isaiah 11:9 (NKJV) 9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord As the waters cover the sea. Habakkuk 2:14 (NKJV) 14 For the earth will be filled With the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, As the waters cover the sea.

· The Church emphases the people God is using to do it.

· Repentance is coming under God‘s rule.

· This is how you enter God’s kingdom.

Colossians 1:13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,.

· The Kingdom is growing - one believer at a time.

Matthew 6:10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

· God’s Word doesn’t teach us the whole world will be converted.

· Many in a nation will turn to God, thus becoming Christ’s inheritance.

Revelations 22:11 He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still."

Psalm 2:8 Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for Your possession.

· The New Testament church became the most powerful movement in its day. So again, this will happen with the crowning victory being the return or the king to receive his inheritance.

· Your new life in Christ has brought you into a new way to live.

· The influence of this kingdom is positive, not negative. Its influence is far reaching.

Romans 14:17-18 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18 For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men.

Acts 5:13 Yet none of the rest dared join them, but the people esteemed them highly.

· In this Kingdom, you can boldly speak the words of victory. You have won already. You can safely predict the out come of the battle.

Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

Acts 4:29-31 Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, 30 by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus." 31 And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
